What the browser encoder did on generated fixtures

These four rows are quality 0.8 results from the 2026-09-13 Chrome 152 run. They are not a website speed score. Photographs, screenshots, transparent graphics, and illustrations do not shrink by the same percentage.

Your images stay inside the browser tab

The normal conversion path reads files from your device, processes them in browser memory, and creates local download links. Closing the tab clears the working queue.

No file upload

Pixels and filenames are not sent to a BatchWebP server during conversion.

Real output names

If a browser produces a fallback format, the download uses the actual file extension.

Compare detailed images and download individual outliers before packaging the batch.

Known limitation

Animated GIF handling depends on browser decoding. Review animation-sensitive files separately.
